About the Chefs
The Park was opened in 2008 by chefs Colin Byrne and Orla Killoran who both have a long standing career in the food industry.
Both chefs stem from different culinary backgrounds. Colin, a former Head Chef of the award winning Marlfield House and Sous Chef of The Tannery, Waterford, has brought with him an abundance of knowledge and skill from established fine dining venues under the guidance and tutelage of renowned chefs such as Henry Stone (Sha-roe Bistro), Paul Flynn (The Tannery) and Michelin Star chef Raymond Blanc (Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons).
Orla, a graduate and former employee of Darina Allen’s Ballymaloe Cookery School, has brought with her vast experience from many years in the food industry. She also broadened her knowledge of food following her experience of working in Avoca Handweavers. Orla has successfully ran her own business, in the town, by taking on the food franchise of Christy’s Arklow. It was her nine years in this establishment that paved the way for Gastro Pub Food in the town.
The fusion of styles and knowledge of both chefs equips them with all the ingredients to provide a memorable dining experience that leaves you wanting more.
